Tukan Salad Bar is an awesome fast food restaurant chain that can be found across Warsaw (but nowhere else in Poland or worldwide as far I know) and I can't reccomend it enough to visitors who find themself in the rumbly stomach zone.
The food is absolutely delicious and incredibly fresh, although it's a fast food restaurant it is not one in the traditional sense. It has quality products which are usually well decorated and it looks like you've walked into an almost elite restaurant.
The presentation of the food is also awesome, there are two kinds of food available.. a selection of salad and brown bread rolls from the salad bar, some of the salads seem incredibly experimental but probably have names in culinary circles. Salmon steaks are available too, as are a wide range of pasta and lasagna dishes, mousaka, chicken tortillas, baked aubergine stuffed with either mozzarella and tomato or turkey and mushrooms, courgette bake with tomato and parmesan or veal, spinach pie and traditional Polish dishes like pierogi, kluski slaskie or golabek (meat stuffed in vine leaves)
The meals have fixed prices but the salads (of which you can mix up any) are priced on weight. The downside to the fact that this is actually healthy food made of good products is that the price is considerably more than any other fast food restaurant around. You can easily clock up 5 or 6 pounds of salad without noticing and the cooked dishes of a reasonable size tend to start from about 4 pounds (16zl), there is also a range of soup and desserts for the man or woman intent on stuffing themselves.
This devine fast food chain can be found in Warsaw at the following locations:
1) BLEKITNY WIEZOWIEC, PL. BANKOWY
2)GALERIA MOKOTOW, "FOOD COURT" II
3) ARKADIA, UL. JANA PAWLA II 82, I p., THEATRUM
4) UL. KREDYTOWA 2
5) UL. KOSZYKOWA
It's destinctive due to the large toucan on the sign.
