Description
The name already suggests country food, in particular the 'arepera' dishes, as well as some Creole ones.
The speciality is 'arepas,' which are round bread rolls similar to burger buns, the difference being that these are made of cornflour and baked on a hot plate. El Granjero del Este seems to have every imaginable filling for these arepas. You can choose from cheese, avocado, marinated fish, chicken salad, roasted meat liver, kidneys, or chorizo sausage, mortadella and Parma ham.
Fruit juice is also served, as are espresso coffee and a good choice of canned drinks, malt beer, chicha, milk and chocolate milkshakes in a bottle. This is a great food option any time of the day.
