Description
Jaime Vivas is a product of the '50s, when Sabana Grande and its Gran Café were at the peak of their success. This restaurant has taken its place, and although it now occupies one big lounge, there is no distinctive interior decoration.
What is distinctive, however, is its Caracas menu, which is a joy, as it is becoming increasingly difficult to find establishments offering such quality food. Here you have steak and onions, stews, chicken in sauce, grilled pork with potatoes and vegetables, baked bananas with or without cheese, yucca, and of course, the national dish, Pabellón Criollo, containing an abundance of grilled meat, black beans, white rice and fried banana.
The service is formal and typical Caracas-style from the '50s, like the restaurant itself.
