I am so biased in favor of this restaurant . . . I used to live right across the Green from it and it, unfortunately, was the cause of my weight gain during my life in central London. The cuisine is SO amazing and so Polish--the owner is a retired Polish opera singer, and her daughters help her run the restaurant. It's well known and an excellent place to go in large groups--there's both an upstairs and a downstairs, so there will always be a party when you eat at the Patio.

The fixed-price menu is amazing and starts with your choice of eight starters. Then, with your main meal, a whole bunch of extras (free of cost) are brought out, like traditional veggie dishes and slaws, potatoes and beets. After your meal, you are served a shot of your choice of flavored vodka and some delicious square chocolate coconut cakes (which help get that vodka down), and then you are served a cup of watermelon and oranges, and THEN you get dessert! All for 11GBP!!!

I cannot go into this restaurant without ordering the pierogies, which come in vegetarian or meat versions--they are irresistible!!!
