Description
Small, but perfectly formed, this restaurant is a firm favourite with locals and has stood the test of time. By day, this is a proper greasy-spoon serving breakfasts (if the owner can be bothered to open that is) and Thai lunches, but at night it dolls up into an inexpensive Thai restaurant. The green curry dishes are great. Remember Thai food is hot and can seriously bring tears to your eyes, so check on the piquancy of dishes with your waiter. The menu is small, but they will make you up just about any Thai - for instance, Gaeng Pak or Penang Gai. Bedlington Cafe is unlicensed, but conveniently two doors down is an off-licence which does a roaring trade. Corkage is a just under a pound per person. A cheap night out but ever so fragrant, bombarding your palate with lime leaves, ginger, garlic, sweet basil, lemongrass and chilli.
