Description
Reminiscent of a gentleman's club, this wonderful building houses a fairly smart restaurant on the ground floor. It's almost opposite Imperial College, but the clientele errs towards academic staff rather than students. If the classical and rather anachronistic dining room puts you off, then head outside in nice weather to the tables on the lovely terrace. Service is courteous and the atmosphere is reasonably relaxed. Straightforward Polish dishes - chlodnik (cold beetroot soup), blini with smoked salmon, pierogis - are well prepared and remain the best menu choices. Phone ahead to ensure a greater vegetarian selection.
