Description: Toast is located a short distance from the main shopping area of Blackpool. From the outside, the restaurant looks quite pleasant. There are a few tables outside for dining during warmer weather and as you step inside, you notice that the tables are set across the main floor, a raised level at the window and a balcony area upstairs. Toast isn't the biggest of restaurants and the tables are quite close together so do not expect privacy. There isn't much room to move around so negotiating a wheelchair or pram may prove a little difficult.
The decor inside this restaurant is very stylish and modern. Various wall hangings and large 'dome' lights added a bit of character to the restaurant. The toilets are the back of the restaurant were spotless and spacious - very modern as well. They do have a disabled toilet but I did not notice a baby changing area. I would say Toast restaurant has a contemporary, business type feel more than a personal, homely feel.
The restaurant is opened from 9.30am - late. WIFI is available.

We arrived at Toast around 12.15pm and found the restaurant very easily. I loved the modern feel of the restaurant as it was quite stylish. There were only a few other diners in the restaurant on arrival but we were seen to straight away. I wouldn't say this restaurant is amazingly family friendly but they did accommodate my toddler fine - I wouldn't take a hoard of children in for food though!
Drinks wise, we were served quickly and my fiance opted for a pint of Pepsi whilst my son had a diluting juice. I wanted something different so opted for a Mango and Strawberry Smoothie (priced at £3.00) - frozen and delicious!
Unsure of how big the portions would be, both myself and fiance opted for a starter each and our sons meal was brought to the table to cool down along with our starters. I had my eye on the Chicken and Chorizo Skewer (marinated chicken pieces and spicy Spanish sausage with salad and dips - £6.25) but changed my mind and went for the Loaded Potato Skins (cheese and chives served with dips - £4.95). I was very pleased with my choice as the potato skins were full of flavour and filling. The salad was neatly dressed and tasted fresh. My fiance opted for the Mushroom Ciabatta (pan fried mushrooms served on a ciabatta bread - £5.45) and received a hearty portion which he declared delicious.
We had 10 minutes to relax whilst we waited for our main courses to arrive. I had my heart set on Lasagne (which was served with garlic bread and salad - £7.95) but after discovering that beef was the roast of the day (£7.95) I went for that. When my plate arrived, I had regretted ordering a starter - the portion was massive! My plate was filled to the brim with a buttery mound of mash, some baby potatoes (cooked perfectly I may add), lots of carrot batons, 2 huge Yorkie puds and a big mound of sliced beef - oh and don't forget the gravy! My meal was absolutely delicious! The beef melted in the mouth and the gravy was rich and flavoursome.
My fiance opted for the Chicken Burger (whole chargrilled chicken fillet - £5.95) which was also a hearty portion and tasted delicious. It was served with some salad and mayonaise though he also ordered a seperate bowl of chips. Most restaurants offer chips as a side anyway but they charged us £2.50 for them! They were delicious though - chunky and with a perfect skin and fluffy inside. My son had sausage and chips from the childrens menu and despite there only being a handful of chips, he struggled to finish it all.
Whilst my son had a lovely bowl of vanilla ice cream (not the cheap stuff mind you), I toyed between the Strawberry and Clotted Cream Flavoured Ice Cream Cake (which came with fresh strawberries) and the Sticky Toffee Pudding. I actually ended up with the Banoffee Pie (pastry case filled with sweet caramel and a layer of bananas, topped with dairy cream and finished with a dusting of cocoa powder - £4.25). To say I was in heaven wouldn't be far from my experience of this delightful dessert. I was presented so beautifully and I had it all to myself! The pastry was fresh, the caramel was sticky and sweet and the bananas added texture and flavour. The cream finished off my dessert perfectly.
We were more than satisfied with our meals at Toast - every dish was presented neatly and cooked to perfection. Service was with a smile and we left filled up and satisfied. I would say the meals are averagely priced and more than worth the money in my eyes. We paid £41 (I paid by debit card and tipped in cash) for 2 starters, 2 main courses, 1 dessert, a childs meal and 3 drinks and I feel this represents excellent value for money.
