Graduation Breakfast

My brother-in-law decided to tag along with his daughter. My father-in-law decided to take us to this restaurant. Now, the drive to get there was interesting for a couple of reasons- One, I was very hungry for breakfast, and two, my father-in-law is an insane driver. When my father-in-law drives, I feel like I am on a roller coaster. Even though the drive to get to the restaurant was rough, we made it finally.

I have been to many diners because. The one feature that I look for when a restaurant titles itself as a diner is if it is truly a diner. Diners are BIG in New England, and they come in different forms. One feature that I look for is the uniqueness of a restaurant. Something that makes it local with local ingredients in the food. One problem that I already had with this restaurant was that it felt like I was eating at a IHOP. I felt like this restaurant did not have an uniqueness.

My group sat down to eat. One thing that I enjoyed about this restaurant was that the wait time was very short even though the restaurant was packed. Immediately, our waitress came to take our orders. We ordered and waited. I decided to order blueberry pancakes and omelet (I am a sucker for blueberry pancakes and omelet). After around 20 minutes, my food came out. I received a big stack of blueberry pancakes. The second I took a bite of my pancake; I was in heaven. I could taste the fresh Maine blueberries (In the New England area, almost every restaurant Maine blueberries). After my pancakes came, my omelet came. Unlike my pancakes, I was kind of disappointed with my omelet because it did not taste great. I thought my omelet was bland; however, my pancakes made up for my lackluster omelet. As for the rest of my family, they enjoyed their breakfast.

The service was excellent. Our waitress was focus and polite. She made sure that our order was fine. Even though the restaurant was busy, she made sure that she came back to our table to make sure everything was fine.

As for price, I thought that it was reasonable. My father-in-law, brother-in-law, and myself decided to split the check. Even if we decided to have one person pay for the check, I thought that the food for the most part was worth the price. I was pleasantly full from breakfast. Also, I thought that service was excellent for the price.

I would recommend this restaurant to any who wants a delicious breakfast in New England but expect this restaurant to have an IHOP feel to it. If you can get over this feeling, you should enjoy this restaurant very much. Worth visiting! Close
