You can see in our pictures some of the funky colors that are so Key West! Adding to the good atmosphere was the outdoor informal setting, the umbrellas (both over our heads and in the drinks!), the music, the breeze, and of course the ocean view. We were only staying in Key West for one dinner and we made the most of it.
Our dinner stay could be broken into four segments. The first was unwinding (after our hectic day of sightseeing) with several frozen drinks. I lived dangerously by mixing drinks (my brother was designated driver) in order to sample their menu of specialty drinks. I wanted to stay in that stage but alas, we did come there for dining.
Part two was our dinner. We ordered different items and all four of us were happy with our selections. Since I consumed a great deal of calories in my liquid portion of dinner, I ordered a green salad. Instead of my normal choice of adding chicken to the salad, I ordered grilled mahi mahi to be added to the salad. This was very different and very tasty. I conveniently forgot all about calories when I indulged in their delicious key lime pie!
Part three was another drink (or two) while sitting at the rail overlooking the water. We did hope to see a sunset but the clouds prevented that. However, we had a wonderful time looking at all of the beautiful sleek yachts and party boats that passed us!
Part four was listening to the band. The band played the rock music I like – oldies for us old baby boomers! While we were there no one danced but I had a feeling that before the night was over, the band probably had the crowd up on their feet.
My only disappointment in this restaurant is that my family wouldn’t let me stay! We had to hit the road and return to our condo in Marathon.
