Description: After leaving our cruise ship, Nick and I would head to Tampa to spend the next few days with his parents. But before going to Tampa, we would be headed to Lakeland to visit an old Army buddy of mine and to visit a college I wanted to see. After visiting with Tonia for a while, it was getting late and we were getting hungry. I had picked another BBQ joint and asked Tonia how close it was. She told us it would be out of the way for how we would be traveling. So she said there was another BBQ place that was right near where we get on the highway and they had some of the best BBQ around.
Since this is a BBQ place that is pretty much what you will find on the menu. Sandwiches include BBQ pork and beef, burger, and fish. Sandwiches come with hushpuppies and a mustard slaw. Plates include BBQ chicken, ham, ribs, or beef, steaks, or shrimp. Plates include hushpuppies and 2 sides. They do have a chopped chicken salad.
I want some ribs and that is what we are here for. All 3 of us go for the rib plate. Nick I get fries and beans. Tonia gets fries and slaw. It doesn’t take long before our ribs come out. OMG..these are to die for. They are so good and melt in your mouth. This is more of a dry rub rib and they bring you sauce on the side. The sauce is similar to our Lexington style which is vinegar based with a tangy kick. Everything is so good it will make you slap your momma!!!!
They did have a tempting menu of home made pies but we were too stuffed to think about it. They do offer a kid's bbq plate. Vegans/vegetarians are pretty much left out.
While we were waiting for our food our waitress brings out some of the best pickle slices I have ever tasted and I really wanted to bring some home with me. The décor is just large tables with a role of paper towels on them. The outside looks like something Guy would visit in his Dinners, Drive Ins, and Drives. As I have said with every BBQ place I review…that is how a BBQ place should be. You are here for the BBQ. And if you have good Q..nothing else matters.
Recommendation: VERY highly recommended.

This place had some divine ribs and we had great service. If you’re in the Lakeland area..you have to stop by Jimbo’s. And just remember I am a Q expert..so if I like it..I know you will!
