Description: paeng mak mak means very very espensive. ouch on the bill however set to impress. Japanese foods have always held number one for me, sashimi and sushi pull most the weight but everything from ume to nato to soba is gonna work for me. its never cheap unless you hit the neighborhood Oishii chain. there are many good choices in Bangkok though for moderate priced meals. haha, here is not one of them for me. I had to get two of my vices, the Chutoro sashimi and the uni nigiri. hit hard right from the start 2500 baht and 900 baht. a bit high for the uni at 900 but it was creamy delicious but you can get this one at other places for cheaper for sure. the 2500 baht sashimi hurt so bad and would give it a just above average for the five slices. eating this dish around asia seldomly, ofcourse Ive had better in Tokyo and its so hard to get that quality. for this price I wished higher quality even though I know it was of good quality. oily tasty delish only the price left me a bad taste. in the past I have 2 orders of chutoro by the slice at $48 and $54 extremely high but those two have always set the bar for me. I would never compare Ten Sui with Fuji as I see others have but maybe Zen (another chain) has quality close to the chutoro served here. only Zen I'm sure has frozen and also paeng. not corisponding with the lady she did a sashimi special with 3 choices for 1500 baht. grrrr she got the chutorro, sake and hamachi. this may be a better way to go. the chutoro was sliced smaller but still for $50 it looks like a great option. the lady also surprised me grabbing a caraffe of recommended sake. I was already doing beers but this was well recieved. she rarely drinks and just did one cup and I finished whatever it was and it was good.
the course's came out every 5 minutes and if we waited 30 we could have had one awesome picture. after the sashimi came the spicy salmon roll, an avacado salad, gobu/chiso roll, grilled unagi and the creamy uni. last was a hot dish that we cooked ourselves on a hot stone tableside. some beef tougne grilled to our perfection. very enjoyable meal and service was just fine nothing special or nothing wrong. with my 2 Asahi beers by the glass, an order of ika sashimi and all above was a scary 9200 baht with tax and service charge. as I look to complain above on the sashimi its really not that bad in comparrison, everything is high quality here and have to give it up to the uni. tonight I got another Japanese fix for a 90% satisfying meal. expensive as it was, being in Thailand gives us the option to save money dining at Chesters Grill tommarow and seeing a movie at the price of 500 baht. Ten Sui is a once for us and I recommend a once for everyone. I'm throwing out 5 stars for the quality. if coming by BTS its a short walk at 10 minutes but if you do a motor bike taxi, its only 10 baht and 40 seconds.
