Description: Recently I walked in during lunch break at Vapiano in the Hanseatic quarter. Vapiano is a Germany-wide (now also European) chain, which specializes in stylish Italian fast food. Fast-food is to be understood literally, because the food is cooked right in front of a fresh and fixed. Since at least the Hamburger Vapianos are very popular, a short waiting time is unavoidable in most cases.
The restaurants are all decorated very chic and invite you to linger. There are both cozy sitting areas and high-quality wood tables - all are but small herb dishes with basil, rosemary, and various oils.. Most I know Vapianos are all located in the inner city and have a large open area so you can sit outside in nice weather. The audience is mixed. At lunch time and closing time you get a lot of working people, families at weekends. Otherwise, there are also students, tourists and many who simply stop by spontaneously.
There are four different stations, where one must stand in line to get to his food (no service on the square). These cooking stations are pizza, pasta, salad and dessert. I'm just now shortly raved about the ambiance. A bit exaggerated I think however that the entire menu is written in Italian, the atmosphere does so sure, however, not diminish. Taste everything is perfect. I have tried several pizzas and pastas, and was always satisfied. The menu is trimmed to a total of noble, so you get not just a portion of spaghetti bolognese, but for example, rocket and ricotta ravioli with cherry tomatoes and pine nuts. Even with the pizzas there are quite sophisticated combinations such as gorgonzola, smoked cheese with dried tomatoes, figs, arugula and mozzarella. The desserts are very tasty, such as "Death by Chocolate". This chocolate cake is the name in the truest sense of the word program.
With so illustrious menus however make the prices accordingly. The Vapiano is a restaurant chain a bit more expensive, the food is prepared really fresh and tastes great. In my opinion therefore the price is justified. With a pizza / pasta and a drink will be around the 10 to 12 euro’s. For the daily lunch break a little expensive but still cheaper than à la carte.
All in all, I can recommend the Vapiano. It tastes great and you feel good. As you can see over time which also the price. Only the rush of people is sometimes a bit annoying. But in the end speaks for the quality of the restaurants. The Vapiano his earned 5 out of 5 stars honestly. Molto bene!
