The palace is located in the same city at Olite Charles III the Noble Square (Plaza Carlos III el Noble) and a complex consisting of the Old Palace, New Palace and the crumbling of the former Royal Chapel of St. George. It is also part of the complex is the church of Santa Maria la Real in the Gothic altar of the XVI century, which is located outside of court.

Olite Castle was built in 1406 on the site of an ancient Roman military fort by King Charles III, who reigned in Navarre during the period from 1387 to 1425 years. Charles III and his wife, Mrs. Leonor, renowned for extravagance among the people, built a magnificent palace complex, "who had the same number of rooms, how many days a year." The majestic silhouette of the castle magic gave huge asymmetrical towers, luxurious green gardens and spacious courtyards.
