Although the structure has been neglected and in dire need of repairs, it exudes an aura of old-world charm unlike any other attraction we have visited. A small museum on the base, opened courtesy of the United Architects of the Philippines, shows the history of the lighthouse. The local government decided that installing modern lighting equipment for the Bojeador is a priority, making it still a fully-functioning lighthouse.
Taiwan Island is just a couple hundred kilometers away to the north.
