Description: Holly Lodge at Alnwick....Home From Home
FRIENDLY AND FAMILY RUN
One of the things we loved about Holly Lodge was that the owners made you feel very welcome and where always able to offer excellent advice on where to visit and eat.
CHECKING IN/RECEPTION
We checked in with the proprieters who gave us a tour of the gardens, lounge, breakfast room and our room. They also gave us some leaflets on places to eat and visit and a form to fill in with our breakfast preferences for the next day one of these forms was left in your room each day and you also picked a time slot when you wanted to eat.
In the reception area is a fridge with bottled water, we found this great to take out for a day exploring. There is also an ice machine which was nice for a glass of chilled water or wine.
OUR ROOM
We had a lovely room on the ground floor with a large comfy double bed with white cotton sheets and lilac runner, bedside cabinets at each side of bed, a Flat screen T.V with free view satelite channels, dressing table with mirror over which had plug points either side and a chair and small wardrobe. Our room was decorated in neutral colours.
Our bedroom was very comfortable and quiet and we slept very well during our stay here.
WET ROOM
Fully tiled with power shower, sink with large light up mirror over and toilet in white cream and beige. Lots of white fluffy towels small bars of soap and shower gel.

LOUNGE
Use of the lounge which was open from 7.30am till 12.00pm. In the lounge there was two comfy white sofas and a 42inch Plasma T.V with DVD player (hubby loved this and made sure he got to watch an important Rugby League match whilst we stayed here). There was also a large selection of books and magazines to choose from.
We also used the lounge after returning from our evening meal and sat in here with a nice glass of chilled wine (red and white wine available to purchase...we had the white which was chilled in a fridge in breakfast room next to lounge).
PRICE
The price is per room and is between £80-£105 per night.

Parking was at the front of Holly Lodge and was lit up at night time. The parking area was safe and secure.
