This is an old style Colonial feeling hotel, set right down in the middle of Kathmandu. Around it's quiet lawns, and genteel interiors streams the chaotic and teeming life of inner city Kathmandu. The Chinese Restaurant on the upper floor is surprisingly excellent. The morning buffet is pleasant, if not particularly distinguished. The remains of long ago grandeur is yours for a modest price. This hotel serves a wide variety of guests from around the world, so if diversity of clientele is a plus, and you don't necessarily want to be surrounded by crowds of Western tourists, businessmen, and tour groups, this is a good choice.
