I came to Anchorage on a business trip. I pay my own way so I look for economy hotels. I found this little hotel on the web and decided to give it a try, as it was only three blocks form the Convention Center where my meetings were. I must say, I have never been to such a nice small hotel as this one. It is small, only 15-16 rooms, and it sits just on a side street out of the noise of the traffic. It is just a 4-6 block walk to everything in the downtown area.
It does not have a restaurant or bar, but they are across the street and close by. What it does have is very clean, cozy rooms with Wi-Fi, fridge, microwave, and coffeemaker. The rooms are not overly large but large enough. I stayed a week and the room was just right for me. The hotel staff are all family and they make you seem right at home. If you want a bar, restaurant, room service, this is not for you; if you want peace and quite, clean rooms, great location, friendly staff, and at a good rate, then this is the place.
When I was at the hotel I found out that there are many lawyers and medical folks that stay here on there way in and out of Anchorage. One of the lawyers told me he is on a traveling team that serves Bush Alaska and all the team members stay here as it is close to the courts and easy walk to all the meetings and restaurants.
I would recommend this little hotel to anyone that does not feel the need to pay for extras that they won't use. Here you get a clean room at a good rate.
