Description: At Christmas we got two tickets for a musical and we needed a cheap place to stay for one in the city of Hamburg. After some searching we came across this B&B in the area of Hamburg Altona. The hotel is part of the third largest French hotel chain with currently over 200 hotels in Europe.
To book a hotel room you can go to their website and choose a variety of room with queen bed, single beds and a family room. In addition you can also book a smoking room or non-smoking. You also have the option if you want to include breakfast.
We booked a room with queen bed and breakfast. This worked on the website quickly and easily. After booking we received a booking confirmation, which we then submitted to the hotel. The payment was made directly. At the reception you can also pay on the day for breakfast if you haven’t booked it in advanced.
On the website of B & B hotels was apparent that there was a parking lot. This was behind the hotel but was unfortunately not to recognize as a hotel parking lot. We had to therefore first walk to the reception to ask whether that was the place to park our car.
You can check in every day from 14.00 clock. That went smoothly with us. We were already at 12.30 clock in the hotel. Since the room was ready earlier, we were able to obtain it already, which was very convenient. We got to the reception but no key, but a code. This had to be entered at the door, so that they will open. I personally felt that as very practical, so you had to carry at least no big key with you. The staff at the front desk was very nice and accommodating. The reception is open 24 hours a day which makes open back late at night no problem.
As described above, one could choose from a variety of room types. We booked a room with a queen bed. The room was decorated very handy and at each bedside was a nightstand and on the wall hung a flat screen TV in addition there was a table with two chairs. There was also a kind of open closet where you could hang his clothes. To the room even included a bathroom, this was small, but enough.. The interior design of the room was very nice and colorful. Each room is equipped with air-conditioning and soundproofed windows. One can use in each room free of charge W-LAN, also can be charged with Sky TV.
We have used the room only for a night to sleep which was ok but I wouldn’t like to spend a lot of nights here.
We have added a breakfast to our room booked. It costs 6.90 euros per person per night. Because of this price we expected nothing heady, but then were surprised. There was a coffee machine on which you could pick up unlimited coffee, cocoa, cappuccino and other coffee specialties. There were different types of bread rolls and bread crisp bread and packaged as, for example. You could choose from four varieties of "fresh" sausage and fresh cheese, in addition, there were some pre-packaged items such as fresh cheese or sausage. You could choose from various kinds of jam, even here, there was again a range of packaged goods, so that really is something for every need. Moreover, one could still operate at the cereal bar, eat boiled eggs or choose from several varieties of yogurt. Breakfast is served the way in the breakfast room. This set is quite desirable, tables for two but also for groups.
The stay at the B & B Hotel Hamburg-Altona has pleased us very much. There is a very good value for money and is ideal for a city tour. We will definitely be back soon check into a B & B hotel just a shame of the size room.
