Description: The Four Points by Sheraton Quebec hotel was included in the Adventure Package we booked for our overnight at the Ice Hotel (Hotel de Glace). The Sheraton served as our back-up room in case our overnight at the Ice Hotel became unbearable.
Our room at the Sheraton was comparable to rooms you find at most chain hotels these days. It had free Wi-Fi; however, I noticed the room we were given did not have a microwave or refrigerator. This was not a concern since we did not plan to eat in our room. For that matter, we did not even plan to stay in it. Our package included an incredible four-course dinner and a hearty breakfast at the hotel’s Le Dijon restaurant.
I was most impressed by the service we received at the Sheraton. The shuttle driver who was supposed to drive us to the dog sledding site 20 minutes away was out sick. The hotel’s owner, José de Freitas, happened to be at the hotel that day so he drove my wife and me in his personal vehicle out to the dog sledding site. He returned two hours later to pick us up. José is a really personable and interesting guy. This avid outdoorsman speaks five languages. He had recently returned from Tanzania where he succeeded in climbing Mt. Kilimanjaro. The Sheraton and the Ice Hotel are partners. José wanted to make sure everything was going smoothly with our package. He even stopped by to visit us while we were dining at the Sheraton's Le Dijon restaurant later that evening. We appreciated the way he and his staff treated us during our stay.
Since we survived the night in the Ice Hotel, we never actually spent the night at the Sheraton. We used it to store our two large suitcases and to shower after our stay at the Ice Hotel.
We had complimentary 24-hour shuttle service between the Sheraton and Ice Hotel. The service was on-demand. Since the two hotels are only a mile or so apart we never had to wait more than 10 minutes after requesting a ride.
The hotel has a golf course but we were not able to see it because it was snow-covered during our stay. My wife enjoyed the fitness room on the ground floor the morning after our Ice Hotel stay.
The Four Points by Sheraton Quebec hotel was very clean during our visit. The multi-lingual staff was always helpful. I enjoyed the opportunities to practice speaking French with them. It was great to have a warm, comfortable, and friendly place to which to return during our visits to the Ice Hotel.
