We planned for a weekend trip to Mysore, THE heritage tourist city in the state of Karnataka, India. Since we had no time to choose our hotel, we went ahead with Gingerm going with the brand name of Tata. Our stay in ginger was for a day & a night. As the tagline (help yourself) of ginger hotel goes, you have to help yourself in getting your own stuff to this place. Though they say its a budget hotel with a 2 star rating, I would rather say that the hotel is expensive for the kind of service they provide. There are no toiletries provided too. You have to buy everything from the reception desk. The room was fine and clean. No qualms about it. But, the sound insulation of the rooms were pathetic. We could clearly hear what our neighboring roomies were talking at the minimal voice-sound levels. Then imagine having a ever-crying child right next your room. It can spoil one's holiday. The breakfast, lunch and dinner was very minimal and the price exorbitant. We had 2 meals at this restaurant, but opted to eat out later to get the good value for money. Overall, I would rate this hotel a average and do not ever get carried away by the brand name. There are a lot of better options available if you can plan a trip little ahead of time :)
