What a wonderful, magical place away from it all in a jungle setting on the Caribbean. All 4 of us can't wait to go back and play again. The flights through Houston went great and TACA is almost first class service in coach. Roatan airport was very inviting and modern but with a feel of the adventure to come. The drive to Palmetto was an interesting introduction to island lifestyle and once we arrived it truly was like Paradise with Palm trees, fruit trees, birds, trails, boat docks, island style restaurant, warm staff and a beautiful home to stay in. We had a spacious 2 bedroom island cottage and ate most meals freshly prepared by the great chef and friendly staff. The bar and wine cellar were outstandingand live entertainment was available on some days/nights. Snorkeling, fishing, SCUBA diving, birdwatching, jungle hiking, boating were all available on site and the new golf course was very close and challenging for some of us but loads of fun. Many great restaurants in the area provided for variety and tasting different cuisines. We did experience the the local insects occasionally but no more than most island resorts we have been to -nothing some off wouldn't take care of. We visited Coxen Hole, churches, other resorts, La Cieba on the mainland and everything in between. The resort is on our 'A' list now and we will remember the wonderful staff, food, setting and friends we made during our stay till the next time.
