You can't miss Mill Mountain if you are driving through Roanoke, because there is a big lit star at the top. At night, the Star is visible all over town. For the teenagers, Mill Mountain is the 'make-out' spot. But for the regular tourists, traveling up Mill Mountain to the Star is well worth the spectacular view of the city. While you are there, walk on the mountain paths and visit the Mill Mountain Zoo. When you're finished, take a turn onto the Blue Ridge Parkway for a leisurely mountain drive. In the fall, the colors are just gorgeous!
