This was an interesting find, in the rear of a local store/restaurant. I didn't really know what to make of a shrine of PENISES but the owner explain it was a fertility shrine. So those desiring a baby could light some incense and say a prayer with the hopes that a baby might be bestowed on them. Still an interesting sight.

The Nikko Shrine & other sites worth seeing

Beautiful old pagodas line this peacful shrine -- a park more or less. It was nice to sit and meditate among the powerful structures. If it hadn't been so cold, I could have sat and written all day long. Truly amazing. Also visit the local cemetary, the ancient bridges, and antique stores.
