Campbell's Covered Bridge/Poinsett Bridge

This attraction will require a drive, as it is located about 20 miles north of the city. However, if you want to see a covered bridge in South Carolina, it will be worth it. That's because this is the only remaining covered bridge in South Carolina. Built in 1909, it is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. If you're into bridges, you may also want to check out Poinsett Bridge while in the area. Located just off of US Hwy. 25, this is the oldest remaining bridge in South Carolina. This rock structure, built in 1820, was part of a road which led travelers from Charleston into the mountains of North Carolina. It was named after Joel Poinsett, a South Carolina senator, who discovered the poinsettia and brought it to the United States.
