Roundstone

Roundstone was one of our favourite stops in our brief tour. The view across the harbour to Connemara was mesmerisingly tranquil, particularly from the cosy O’Dowds bar.

Things to Do - If you have a clear day, do climb up Mt Errisbeg. Follow the track past all the fenced off fields until you go through a gate onto open land. From there strike up the hill however looks easiest.

Accommodation - St. Josephs is a wonderfully friendly B&B, the only we found with shared tea/coffee making facilities and biscuits. £18 per person in a double with en suite, and full breakfast.

Eating/Drinking - O’Dowds – For a few pounds less per dish, the bar food in the pub is exactly the same as the food served in their restaurant next door, and it’s a great chatty night with everybody else.

Out of season many other restaurants/bars seemed closed.
