This self guided tour is wonderful. You get a really good idea of what it was like to live on a farm 100 years ago. Special events and demonstrations held every weekend include plantings, growing, and harvesting crops using horses and vintage equipment. Be sure to see the milking demonstration held in the afternoon. Special programs include sheep shearing, carriage driving, and carpentry demonstrations. If you visit in the spring time you may be lucky enough to see some of the baby animals born on the farm.
This leaves a great impression on kids who are reluctant to do their chores. Somehow things seem much easier when they see how everything used to be done.
