A Real Authentic Cambodian Restaurant

In the heart of ngo land this traditional Khmer restaurant has a seating arrangement that suites any situation.
The conversion to the house originally built on the land has been really thought out and uses up its space well. Now you can break this place in to 3 main sections the first one you see when you arrive is the garden seating area. Set around mango trees and several water features. They play traditional Khmer music from 6-8 every night, and the best place to hear it is from the garden witch runs round the hole perimeter of the house. The kitchen is massive and the food on the BBQ menu is prepared in view of any one who stops to look.
In side the house as you go up stairway you have another 2 choices of seating. In 2 of the smaller rooms they have set up several Japanese styles low tables where you can lean on pillows and really relax while you eat. Or there is the outside deck which has a great view and can cater for the larger groups of people that go there.
So what happens when you arrive there? Well as I entered I was warmly greeted and asked where I wanted to sit and as I needed to see around I got the mini tour of what’s on offer. I decided to go for the upstairs deck and headed for a table in the corner so I can see what’s happening. As it was the busiest place in the restaurant. But what really made me think was the amount of young 20-30 year old Khmers there enjoying them selves. Weather they were a couple sitting on the Japanese tables getting a bit of romancing. To the large groups on the deck laughing, and having fun with each other over a sociable meal.
The menu was quickly dispatched to the table and I was happily surprised that the costs were really reasonable and weren’t expensive like the atmosphere warrants.
The menu its self is made up of some traditional Khmer food and some nice Thi food all linked together with the BBQ menu, which you use to fill in the hunger gaps. I went for the 2 types of spring roll Khmer curry and a steamed fish for my partner. But like any Khmer meal every thing is sheared. Well presented in boat shaped plate’s the food tasted fresh and wasn’t to heavily spiced up with chills. So that has to earn some brownie points as you get the full flavor of the food.
The serves was quick and the staff very attentive with some one assigned to nearly every table. So Any thing you need is only a few minutes away. One of the better Khmer restaurants this place is a great place to try and see how the locals enjoy them selves when they go out.
