Allow plenty of time to visit Whakarewarewa Thermal Reserve and Maori Arts & Crafts Institure outside Rotorua. We joined an on-site tour of the grounds and village, which was very informative. We watched young craftsmen at their trades, ate corn on the cob straight from Thermal Springs, and attended a Maori Hangi Concert. Well worth the trip! (When you look at the picture, think of this quote: 'It was one of those days...so silent, so still, you almost feel the Earth itself has stopped in astonishment at its own beauty.' -Katherine Mansfield)
