The Wee Scots Shop is a unique shop in Salado, that has almost everything Scottish, and absolutely everything to do with Scottish tradition and ancenstry.
The Wee Scots Shop is there primarily to help visitors trace their ancestry back to Scotland. If your ancestors and family name are of Scottish heritage, then you (and the proprietor) will have a ball researching your name. Among other things, you can learn what your traditional Scottish family tartan looks like (colors and pattern), and if you like, you can proudly wear or display your colors with the merchantise available for sale, including kilts, blankets, neckties, and more.
In addition to Scottish tartan apparel, The Wee Scots Shop has a large selection of books, maps, flags, and other gifts. They have books about Scottish tradition and ancestry, and miscellaneous travel books. The shop is in a two-floor (the shop is on the ground level) wood frame building, situated back from the street about 30 feet farther that the buildings on either side of it.
The Wee Scots Shop is located in Salado on Main Street. To get there, take Texas I-35 to Salado, and Main Street is on the east side of I-35. The Wee Scots Shop is right across the street from the Salado Pottery and Stagecoach Inn.
