Wrightsville Beach

Wrightsville Beach is just minutes away from the center of Wilmington. Wilmington is surrounded by several different beaches, but I've found Wrightsville Beach to be my favorite. The beach is usually very clean and the people that live in that community are very welcoming. They have a little strip by the beach with a local bar, beach stores, and good local places to eat. I definitely recommend this beach to anyone looking for a nice place for relaxation and fun! And the greatest thing about visiting the beach if your already in the city is that going to the beach is practically FREE unlike water parks or miniature golf for example, you don't have to pay anything to just have fun!

Wrightsville Beach

Despite being used to the nice beaches in Southern California, I was quite impressed by Wrightsville Beach. It is one of the widest beaches I have seen. Besides the sheer size of the beach, I really liked that parts of Wrightsville Beach had lots of shells washing up to the shore. The beach gets packed on the weekend, especially since UNC Wilmington is located quite close. Large homes border the beach, and many look like vacationers can rent the place for the summer. The beach is clean, and there are lots of surfers in the waters, indicative of the waves. I noticed that there was always a fairly strong breeze cooling us off, which we needed since it was in the 90s and humid!
