Oak Ridge, TN (& museum)

We hit the museum in Oak Ridge. I have to admit that I thought it would be a snoozer, but the museum was fascinating. Did you know that the former residents of Black Oak Ridge in TN were forced out of their family homes with 10 days notice so that the military could build Oak Ridge National Labs (where work on the atomic bomb occurred)? If you're interested in science or in World War II at all, this is a must see! I never knew all the scare tactics that the US government used during WWII, or the hardships that our grandparents endured - you will be AMAZED at the housing conditions.
