First of all, I must admit that I am NOT a car fanatic. Having said that, I must say that the French National Automobile Museum in Mulhouse is simply outstanding, whether you are a car buff or not. Finding it is not difficult, as signs everywhere lead you directly to it once you arrive in the city, located at the south end of the "route du vin," south of Strasbourg.

It is one of the most beautifully organized museums you will find anywhere. The range of European vehicles, including a huge selection of Bugattis, is absolutely astonishing. In addition, they are beautifully displayed, and the metal, wood, leather and glass kept in superb condition. The original collectors and subsequent organizers have lavished a great deal of love and attention on the museum and its contents and wish to ensure that visitors have a most enjoyable experience.

Hand-held audioguides allow you to learn a great deal about many of the vehicles and enhance your visit, allowing you to take your time as you please.

Every once in a while when travelling, you decide to go into a museum not really knowing what to expect, and you find a gem. If you love cars, you will adore this museum, but even if you are not a car lover, you can't help but enjoy your time in the museum. It is truly one of a kind!
