Visit to the Croft Mine Historical Park

This was so real! At the Croft mine they have an elevator ride that takes you down below to a mine tunnel. Well not really! But it sure feels like it. Every last detail has been recreated to make you feel like you are really in a mine digging for iron ore. The kids loved this, so did we!

There is also a tour guide telling you stories and facts as you go. At the end there is a museum where you can plunge a dynomite plunger, put on a mining helmet, and see pictures and other artifacts from the mining days. There are also other outbuildings to visit, like where the miners lived, shopped - this was all owned by the mining company. Cool to do on a hot day!
