Yarn Heaven (It is!) (817) 226-9276

I should never have found out about this place! Its location, west of Fielder and south of Pioneer Parkway, makes it very handy for a shopping trip. This shop claims to have one of the largest selections of yarn in the US. Enormous selection of angora, wool, cashmere, metallic and synthetic yarns. All sorts of needles & hooks, many in wood. (The rumor is that you can take wooden ones on airplanes, but I haven't tested that out myself.)

The best part of the shop is the teaching and help that is always available. If you are stuck on a pattern or just plain want to learn something new, this is the place to be.

Yarn 'collecting' is one of my major hobbies. It seems that I have to admire it for a while before I can decide what to do with it.

The folks in this shop are very kind. They won't look down on you if you are no expert at needle arts. Plenty of classes & help for beginners. Also help for men getting started in needle arts.

Telephone for hours and days open as well as driving directions. W. Arkansas is a major east-west street in Arlington.

Arlington is the largest city in the US that doesn't have public transportation. If you are visiting from out of town, you either have to drive or take a taxi.
