Gondola Ride and town walk

Since our visit was limited to the one day trip we spent an hour or so strolling. The picturesque San Miguel River and river trail wind through town joining Town Park with the historic train depot. At an elevation of 9,000 ft. Telluride looks up from its boxed canyon to surrounding 13,000 ft. peaks. The scenery as well as the altitude made me giddy and I coerced my husband to ride the gondola to Mountain Village and return. The view was magnificent! On future visits we plan to do some mountain hiking and spend some time in Telluride Town Park. The park offers seasonal activities such as ice skating, hockey, snowshoeing and sledding in winter and tennis, swimming and cultural events in summer.
