Built as a half-size Eiffel Tower, the Blackpool Tower can be seen from anywhere in town. The Tower has become the centerpiece of an entertainment complex, with Disney-like themed rides, the Tower Circus, a Victorian ballroom complete with dance band, an aquarium, a Madame Tussaud's, a Ripley's Believe It Or Not, even an ice skating rink (at least the weekend I was there). There is enough to keep any family busy for a week.

The Blackpool Tower at first glance looks like a miniature form of the Eiffel Tower. At a height of 518 feet, an elevator ride to the top to view the area is a popular activity. On the way down you can visit different floors with different schemes. Visit Out of this World which is a wealth of science information, Undersea World which of couse house sea creatures and the Tower Ballroom for a little socializing. It costs about $20 to see all floors but is a must-see on your visit.
