Ithaca Festival is the celebration of Ithaca in all its talent and diversity. It falls on the first weekend in June, and runs from noon Friday through Sunday night. Friday is kids day. School children perform with their classes, or watch children's programing such as puppetshows, jugglers, magicians, plays, dancing and more. Saturday the festival continues with a wide array of performances by local artistic groups. Sunday, the festival moves to Stewart Park on Cayuga Lake's southers tip, where at least three stages feature the wide variety of musical groups and genre available in the local area. There is more dancing and childen's activities. Both Saturday and Sunday local crafts people set up booths to offer their wares for sale, and many local restaurants set up food booths offering a variety of ethnic cuisine typical of the Ithaca area. The Ithaca Festival ends Sunday night with an impressive fireworks display. This festival is great fun if you like crowds and excitement, music entertainment, dancing and food, and if you enjoy being recognized by everyone you've ever known in Ithaca.
