You'll start off, from the rental place, on one of the Maasplassen, and you can enjoy yourself here for about two/three hours, sailing around. On the Maasplassen are mostly sailing boats, so you won't have too hard a time. If you want to go on the river, I've found that it is best to have a boat with a small motor, but I wasn't able to rent one. It is possible to sail about on the river, but it will take you forever. If you still want to try, then I can recommend sailing upstream. You'll pass by a restaurant on you right hand-side. It's called 'Marina Oolderhuuske' and is part of a holiday camp of floating houses. The houses can be bought and go for about $ 100.000 - $150.000. If you ever want to come back?
Still, you can moor your boat here and go for a drink and a piece of Limburger vlaai. This is no cheese but a kind of fruitcake. You'll have to try it.
