Avalanche Lake

This is a moderate trail that a beginner can walk, There are some climbs up and around rocks, but the sights you see on the way are worth the trip. We passed a stream coming from the lake, rushing past great boulders and through a narrow gorge. We saw several deer just off the trail, and the view of the lake itself was spectacular.

Envision a lake surrounded by mountains with several streams coming down the side into the lake. The lake itself is not very deep, and you can walk around the whole lake if you have the time. It is peaceful and quiet, and if you're lucky, you might see a small group of deer enjoying a drink from the cool waters.
