The Antique Depot

I always hit the Antique Depot here on my annual visit to Altoona. One half of the huge complex is devoted to a real flea market, which is open only on weekends. There is a small central waiting area with food vendors and the opposite side is a consignment antique emporium. Browse through stall after stall of unique and often originally displayed antiques. The selection of pieces here appeal to everyone and the displays change often. My only complaint about the venue is that the vendors are usually not available for questions, bargains, etc . . .

When you have selected an item for purchase, a sharp-eyed hostess will take it to the front counter and put it under your name. Then, when you have made all of your purchases, it is easy to "check" out at one central location. Shop carefully, as you don''t have much recourse if you are unhappy. I have bought antique dolls, silver, pottery, cookbooks, and furniture.
