Clearwater Marina

  • May 5, 2005
  • Rated 5 of 5 by LeslieEnoch from Fredonia, New York
It had all the fun you could imagine in one marina. Besides all of the fun water sports, there are also restaurants you can eat at. I highly recommend it if you’re in Clearwater Beach.

Fishing from Clearwater Marina Boats & Beach

  • November 17, 2000
  • Rated 4 of 5 by samepenny from Fort Worth, Texas
Many people come to Florida to fish. For a while, this Guide worked in the Marina at Clearwater Beach. Many charter and day (party) boats go out of that marina. Go down to the Marina the afternoon before you want to go out and watch what is going on. Pick a boat that looks successful. The 'party' boats refer to a relatively large group of people going out together on a boat, each having paid a fee. This isn't the 'Monkey Business' type boat. The charter boats usually take out 6 to 8 people for a lot of money. Thursdays are often reduced rate days on the charter boats.
Ask a lot of questions! Do not take along family members 'for the ride'. Likely they'll get seasick and hate you for it. Send them to the beach.... Oh, by the way, don't drink grape soda or eat scrambled eggs prior to going out or you'll get sick too!

If you like fishing, it can be great fun!

Sea Screamer

  • September 29, 2000

This is actually two cruises in one with the first part being a narrated tour of the Clearwater area with the second part being a throttle open, wave jumping ride through the Gulf of Mexico. If you can't get to Busch Gardens to ride the roller coasters then this is the next best thing. Also be sure and wear either casual clothing or swimsuits. It is a sure bet you will get wet.

Clearwater Marine Aquarium

  • September 29, 2000

While there is no comparing this aquarium with the Florida Aquarium in downtown Tampa, it offers a view of sealife without having to fight traffic on the drive to Tampa. The non-profit facility is not entertaining but also educational and you are guaranteed to come away with new knowledge about some facet of sea life.
