Big Sky boasts the fact that it doesn't have any lift lines, and they aren't pulling your leg. The only time I had to wait in line was for the gondola, and that was a mere 5 minutes. There was only trace amounts of fresh snow all day, and this was alright, because some of the runs always had some ungroomed snow stacked on them. The only part that made skiing some of the bowls hard was the direction of the wind. At times, some of the bowls would be empty because the wind would blow the snow out of it. Aside from that, the skiing was terrific, and I was surprised at how the cruisers to get around on the mountain were laid out and maintained.
Big Sky was so impressive that we skied there 2 days instead of our intended 1 day. The lift lines, selection of runs, and decent price for students make this resort a must. Combine it with nearby Bridger Bowl and Moonlight Basin and you have yourself a ski trip that can rival some Colorado trips.
