Sharoi Ainu Musuem and Village

A very interesting and well presented museum and recreated village dedicated to the culture of the Ainu. The Ainu are the original inhabitants of Hokkaido and this museum does an excellent job of presenting the Ainu way of life and belief system. Most of the displays have English language captions and there is a reconstructed village with houses built in the traditional Ainu fashion (thatched roofs and bamboo walls).

To get there just follow the signs from just about any major intersection in Sharoi to Porotokohan.
