This incredible excursion to the Orinoco Delta and Canaima was well worth the money. You fly to the Delta from Isla de Margarita and then travel up the river on a high speed boat (approx. 60 miles).

Once you reach the camp, it's like a time warp. You are on the edge of the jungle. You can hear the monkeys howling and flocks of parrots fly by. The highlights of the excursion are the jungle hike, a vist to a Warao Indian family and fishing for piranha. The natural beauty is remarkable.

The next day, it's back to the plane for the fly-by of Angel Fall's and lunch in Canaima. In Canaima, the boat ride around the lagoon is refreshing, but the real excitement is the hike behind the waterfall.

Along the way, we met incredible people who made us feel at home in their country. This is a must do for anyone traveling to Venezuela.

The beach of the resort itself is not suitable for swimming, but could be good for windsurfing or jumping on the waves. If you take a seven-minute walk along the beach, there is a good spot for swimming where the territory of the resort ends. It takes you far from the resort’s free sun beds and the bar, of course, but there is a lot to gain. You can enjoy the peace and quiet of a tropical island: white sand, clear skies, blue sea and not a soul around! There is less wind and almost no waves at the very end of the beach. There are flat rocks by the stretch of sand, more comfortable than any sun bed! If lying down flat in the sun bores you, you can take your sun walking around, watching dozens of crabs that live in the rocks as well as picking seashells. Don’t venture too far without a bottle of water and sun cream -- it won’t be much fun!

There are three pools: a round smaller one where you can play volleyball, a bigger one where you can play volleyball, basketball or just swim, and one for kid. There are pool and ping pong tables. They have movies for adults and kids, evening shows, and a disco. There are two restaurants, one of which is right on the beach and has relaxing views of the sand and waves.
