Game Watching

Wildlife of many kinds can be found in Jasper National Park. Moose may be seen in the Athabasca valley, while mountain goats, bighorns, and grizzly bear frequent the rock slides on the north side of the park. Wapiti, mule deer and black bear are found throughout the park, even near jasper town. A single walk in the forest could bring you surprise. Squirrels, chipmunks, scamper, marmots and beavers are also common. Be cautious, the most dangerous animal, except grizzly is wapiti during the breeding season. Don't approach them.
