The Spencer Museum of Art has 7 galleries with over 17,000 works of art. The museum strives to cover as much history in their collection as possible. The Japanese paintings and prints are particularly interesting to me because I had never seen anything of their kind before. Most of it is modern in nature. Other musuems tend not to display modern works particular to a country. I also enjoyed the photo prints, mostly because I am a photographer myself. The glass pieces are striking also.
The Spencer Art Museum is located on the KU campus adjacent to the football stadium. Admission is by donation only.
