Rainforest Medicine Trail a Must See!

I loved the Rainforest Medicine Trail. It's amazing that Dr Arvigo dedicated her life to preserving traditional Maya Medicine this way. They told us that she even hosts a Bush Medicine Camp for the Belizian kids.
The trail is steep in places. I stayed at Chaa Creek at the Macal River Campground and hiked the trail to get to the resort every day. I recommend it highly.

Rainforest Medicine Trail

The Rainforest Medicine Trail guide first gives you a history of how the trail came to b and about DR Rosita Arvigo's work with local Shaman, Panti. Then you complete the self guided trail through the rainforest at your own leisure. Very interesting explanations of the various healing properties of the plants as well as scientific sneiu, species etc. Plan on at least two hours to complete the self guided walking tour so you can do it at a leisurely Belizean pace
