This is "my" kids' (I'm an aupair) FAVORITE place to go in Bern. They've been a hundred times, and it's always still buckets of fun for them. For me, too! When they're not dragging me on to the next exhibit, that is. I've only ever been to the permanent exhibition, but the special exhibitions are supposed to be great as well. (Tickets are 9Fr to either exhibit for an adult and 13Fr if you go to both - if you have a Swiss Museum Pass, it can be used here.)
The whole museum is FULL of interactive exhibits based on media. Nearly everything can be read, viewed, or listened to in German, English, or French. The first few exhibits have to do with communication in general. When you go up the stairs, you're in the Postal exhibit, with fun activities like writing a letter with a quill pen and practicing typing letters on a computer. Then you get to telephones, radio, television, and finally, the Internet. It's set up REALLY well, to be both fun AND very educational.
TIP: On the first floor, you will come to a blue couch - this is my kids' FAVORITE thing in the museum. There's another identical couch later on in the museum. When you sit on the couch, you're on a TV screen, and it blends with the image of whatever people may be on the other couch. If people are on both couches, this can lead to endless fun.
