Relax in Grote Markt

The location of the central market in European towns shows how it used to be the heart of the city. Now it's alive with people browsing the shops, sitting on the stairs in the sun or having tea in a coffee shop. The Grote Markt is the center square of Bruges. This is where you can climb the Belfry for astounding red roofed views. No traffic is allowed in the Square and if you are awake early enough on weekend mornings, you can find a food market selling everything imaginable. It's gone before noon though, when street cleaners come to wash away the leftovers and leave it looking pristine once again. Grote Markt is truly one of the most beautiful main squares in Europe.

Main Square

The main square here is really one of the nicest I have seen. It is more spectacular than Brussels, and at night it is beautiful.

There are lots and lots of shops in Brugge. The first day we were there it was raining so we shopped at lot.
