I'm including this for those of you who will be in Guangzhou to do your own cooking. I'm sure you will start to miss the familiar Western foods and they are not always easy to find in Guangzhou. The first thing I will say here is if you like yellow mustard, take it with you; you can't buy it in Guangzhou.
There are three really good supermarkets that carry all sorts of Western foods. The first is near Beijing Road. It is called Park and Shop. This is a very popular chain all across China. Park and Shop is also located at the same metro station that services Beijing Road. The second supermarket worth mention is Jusco. Jusco is located on the ground floor of Teem Plaza, which is a large shopping mall on Tian He Road near the CITIC Plaza and the East Train Station. This also is located at a metro station for easy access. Both of these two stores are priced normally because the Chinese shop in them. The next store is quite expensive compared to the others, but does have a lot of imported foods that you can't find anywhere else (they still don't have yellow mustard though). It is located in the Friendship Store across from the Garden Hotel on Huanshi Dong Lu. If you can't find what you are looking for here, chances are you won't find it without going to Hong Kong.
